FINDINGS <br /> r <br /> Soil profiles on the site were determined from field data Hydrocarbon impact in soil and <br /> rgroundwater was characterized from field and laboratory analytical data <br />' 41 SOIL PROFILE <br /> A dark brown to black, moist, silty clay was encountered from surface grade to depths of <br />' approximately,10 feet bsg in each boring A gray to brown silty sand with medium size sand extends <br /> from 10 feet to 25 feet bsg From 25 feet to 30 feet bsg a medium sand is present <br />' Saturated soil was first encountered in each boring at a depth of 20 feet bsg Boring logs are included <br /> in Appendix B A stratigraphic cross section of the former UST area and northern dispenser area is <br /> depicted in Figure 5 <br /> 4 2 FIELD EVIDENCE OF HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL AND GROUND WATER <br /> Organic vapor was detected in soil sample duplicates collected from B-1 and B-2 at 10 and 15 feet <br /> bsg at concentrations as high as 74 ppmv Additionally, significant organic vapor was detected in <br />' soil sample duplicates collected from borings B-3 and B-6 <br />' 43 RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLE ANALYSIS <br /> Select soil samples from borings B-1 through B-8 were submitted for analysis for TPH-g, TPH-d, <br /> BTEX and fuel oxygenates <br /> 1 The laboratory results reported petroleum hydrocarbons TPH-g, TPH-d, and BTEX in samples B-1, <br /> B-2, and B-7 at 15 feet bsg at concentrations as high as 49 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), 180 <br /> mg/kg and 0 36 mg/kg, respectively MTBE was detected by EPA method 8020 in the sample B-2 <br /> at 15 feet bsg at a concentration of 0 079 mg/kg MTBE was detected by EPA method 8260 in soil <br /> samples collected from B-1, B-6, and B-7 at 10,and 15 feet bsg at concentrations as high as 6 6 <br /> micrograms per kilograms (ug/kg), 52,ug/kg, and 21 ug/kg, respectively MTBE was also detected <br /> 1 by EPA method 8260 in soil samples collected from B-2 at 10, 15, and 20 feet bsg at concentrations <br /> of 16 ug/kg, 78 ,ug/kg, and 7 1 ug/kg, respectively No other fuel oxygenates were detected above <br /> the reporting limits <br /> Analytical results of soil samples are summarized in Tables 1 and 2 The laboratory reports and <br /> chain-of custody forms are included in Appendix C <br /> Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc ' <br /> 1 <br />
