MYRTLE STREET <br />STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br />2.0 SCOPE -OF -WORK <br />)MEST <br />EmirmnwW Seices & Tc&wlogy <br />Soil and soil gas samples will be collected from borings advanced at the Site (Figure 2-1). Details <br />of the scope -of -work are provided below. <br />2.1 SAMPLING PLAN RATIONALE <br />Soil and soil gas samples will be collected and analyzed to evaluate the presence of metals (soil) <br />and VOCs (soil gas). The soil and soil gas samples will be collected in the areas near the current <br />operations buildings on the southern portion of the Site and from the undeveloped northern <br />portion of the Site. The samples will be collected to characterize identified gaps associated with <br />historical Site uses. Shallow soil samples (approximately 1 -foot and 3 -feet below ground surface) <br />will be collected to characterize the potential presence of lead in soil from lead-based paint <br />associated with the former residential dwellings and outdoor debris storage. Soil gas samples will <br />be collected at approximately 5 feet below ground surface to characterize the presence of VOCs <br />associated with hazardous materials and hazardous waste management practices. <br />The soil and soil gas sampling will be conducted in accordance with California Environmental <br />Protection Agency (CalEPA)'s July 2015 Advisory -Active Soil Gas Investigations guidance and <br />WEST'S Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS; Appendix A). <br />2.2 PERMITTING, HEALTH AND SAFETY, UTILITY CLEARANCE <br />Prior to drilling, appropriate boring permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). As required by the CalOSHA Title 8 §5192 <br />Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response and the U.S. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, <br />Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Responses, a Site HASP has been prepared for use <br />by the contractor and subcontractors while conducting the remediation activities. The boring <br />locations will also be marked out on the Site and appropriate notifications will be made to <br />Underground Service Alert (USA) to locate and clear work areas for underground utilities at the <br />3 <br />9123 <br />
