1� - <br /> 1 <br /> M r <br /> \ A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br /> Remedial Investigation/ <br /> Feasibility Study <br /> Pacific Coast Recreation <br /> 3755 Munford Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> ATC Project No 54 16393 0002 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ATC Associates Inc has prepared this Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study on behalf of <br /> Cohn Enterprises to summarize findings of the soil vapor extraction and air sparge pilot tests at <br />' the above referenced site The purpose of the pilot tests was to evaluate if soil vapor extraction <br /> and/or air spargmg are viable remedial options for remediating petroleum impacted soil and <br /> groundwater in the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks (USTs) This work was <br /> done at the request of San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) The <br /> findings of the pilot study are summarized in the following report <br /> hk� 5v� /4_7 <br /> lei <br /> 1.1 Site Location <br /> The site is located on the north side of East Munford Avenue and east of the State Highway 99 in <br /> Stockton, California, as shown on Figure 1 The location is a residential and light commercial <br /> area and the site is currently occupied by Pacific Coast Recreation <br />' 2 Site Background <br /> round� <br /> In May 1991, one 10,000-gallon diesel UST, one 1,000-gallon unleaded gasoline UST, and all <br /> associated piping were removed by SEMCO from the locations shown on Figure 2 Soil samples <br /> were collected from beneath the USTs. and analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons Analytical <br /> ' testing indicated the samples collected from beneath the USTs contained detectable <br /> concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents The excavations were subsequently <br /> ' backfilled <br /> In November 1997, MJ Kloberdanz and Associates advanced one soil boring to approximately <br /> 71 5 feet below ground surface (bgs) Analytical results of soil samples collected at 25, 35, 45, <br /> 65, and 71 feet bgs indicated that soil was impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons Site activities <br /> were summarized in MJ Kloberdanz and Associates' Phase 1 Investigation Report, dated <br /> fNovember 24, 1997 MJ Kloberdanz and Associates concluded that additional investigation <br /> activities would be required <br /> w 1163931reportslrjfs doe 1 <br />
