Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202
Subject: Monthly Depth to Water Monitoring Event January .2001, Pacific Coast
Recreation, 3 75 5 Munford Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
This report presents the result's of monthly groundwater monitoring performed in January 2001
by ATC Associates Inc. at the site located at 3755'Munford Avenue, Stockton, California (Figure
1). Monitoring was performed to determine the groundwater flow direction and'the hydraulic
gradient in the uppermost aquifer.
SITE HISTORY
1
In May 1991, one 10,000-gallon diesel UST, one 1,000-gallon unleaded gasoline UST, and all
associated piping were removed by SEMCC from the locations shown on Figure 2. Soil samples
were collected from beneath the USTs and analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons. Analytical
testing indicated the samples collected from beneath the USTs contained detectable
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents_. The excavations were subsequently
backfilled.
a"
In November 1997, MJ Kloberdanz and Associates advanced one soil boring to approximately
7L5 feet below ground surface (bgs). Analytical results of soil samples collected at 25, 35, 45,
65, and'71 feet bgs indicated that soil was impacted by-petroleum hydrocarbons. Site activities
f were summarized in MJ Kloberdanz and Associates' Phase I Investigation Report, dated
November 24, 1997. MJ Kloberdanz and Associates concluded that additional investigation
activities would be required.
In November 1998, ATC personnel supervised the advancement of two soil borings to 78.5 feet
bgs and one soil boring to 86.5 feet .bgs. The soil borings were converted.into groundwater
I monitoring wells. Analytical results of soil samples and groundwater 'a ples indicated that soil
and groundwater are impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. Site activities were summarized in
ATC's Summary Report of Subsurface Investigation, dated January .15, 1999.
w:\163931quartly\1-2001.doc 1
