Behrens
"PROVED X
DISAPPROVED 0
ADEQUATE AND NECESSARY ELEMENTS OF THE WORKPLAN. [Health & Safety
Code (H&S) Section 25296.10(c)(3)]:
0 Destroy monitoring well MW-1 by first checking the depth and integrity of the well
and removing any obstructions, then backfilling the well casing with neat cement
grout mix. Twenty-five pounds-per-square-inch (psi) of pressure will then be applied
to the well casing for at least ten minutes. Using a twenty-inch hollow stem auger,
the wellhead vault box and well casing will be over drilled creating an open area
approximately two feet in diameter and approximately two-and-a-half feet below
grade. The well casing will be cut at a depth of approximately two and a half feet
below grade and the soil around the casing will be excavated exposing approximately
six inches of casing. The remaining hole will be backfilled with neat cement.
* Destroy monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3, MW-4 MW-5, MW-6, MW-7, MW-8, and
MW-9 by over drilling the borehole to total well depth plus one foot using an eight-
inch diameter hollow stem auger. The borings will be backfilled to surface grade with
neat cement grout using a tremic pipe system.
a Groundwater expelled from the wells during the grouting pfocess and soil cuttings
generated from the over drilling process will be containerized, characterized, and
disposed of properly.
