15 March 2003
• AGE-NC Project No 98-0534
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-d was not detected in the any of the ground water samples TPH-g was detected in the ground
water samples collected from wells MW4 and MW6 at concentrations of 160 µg/1 and 110 gg/l,
respectively BTEX compounds were not detected in any of the ground water samples
IMTBE was detected in samples MW4 and MW6 by EPA method 8021B at 12u3 ug/1 and
were reconfirmed with EPA method 8260B at 19 ug/1 and 18 ug/l, respectively No other fuel
oxygenates were detected in any of the samples The current and historical ground water analytical
results are summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report(CTEL Project No CT214-0301092) and
chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix B
I
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the findings from this investigation, AGE concludes
I . 0 A ground water ridge is present in the former UST area with water flowing to the northeast
and southwest at low hydraulic gradients This is consistent with previous monitoring events
I O The dissolved TPH-g and MTBE plumes are currently delineated by the existing well
network In general, the TPH-g and MTBE concentrations have shown stable to decreasing
trends when compared to previous monitoring events
I
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the stable to decreasingconcentrations of TPH- and MTBE in the ground water, AGE
g
recommends continued quarterly ground water monitoring at the site
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
I environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the hydrogeologic
conditions at the site has been made from a limited number of available data points(I a monitoring
well ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points No
other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional interpretations, opinions and
recommendations contained in this report
I
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
