INTRODUCTION <br />' At the request of Mr Nick Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum Inc ,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc (AGE)has prepared the enclosed report for the former Mel Bokides Petroleum facility located <br /> at 2191 Navy Dnve, Stockton, California (the site) The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site <br /> structures, previous borings and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The scope of work included installation of eight single-completed ground water monitoring wells <br />' and monitonng of the ground water monitoring well network on the site This report documents <br /> collection and analysis of soil and ground water samples and the results of a ground water <br /> monitoring event <br />' The site histo and a description of previous work performed at the site were detailed in an AGE <br /> history p p <br /> document titled Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report (PIER), dated 18 April 1999 The <br />' field work was performed and this report prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PIS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water <br /> 10 Quality Control Board (CV-RWQCB) guidelines for subsurface investigations of underground <br /> storage tank (UST) sites <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> 21 DRILLING AND SAMPLING <br /> On 20 and 21 July 2000, eight pilot borings were advanced using a CME-85 drill ng equipped with <br />' 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers (Borings MW 1 through MW8 Figure 2) The drill ng and <br /> two-man crew were supplied by West Hazmat Drilling <br />' Soil samples were,collected ahead of the drill bit using a California modified split-spoon sampler <br /> loaded with three pre-cleaned 2-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves Soil samples were collected at 5-foot <br /> intervals, beginning at 5 feet bsg, in all borings excluding MW6 In boring MW6, soil samples were <br /> collected at two foot intervals, starting at 10 feet bsg <br /> The soil was then visually described in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System (see <br /> Appendix A) Soil sample duplicates were screened for the presence of organic vapor using an <br /> organic vapor meter(OVM)equipped with a photo-ionization detector(PID Thermo Environmental <br /> 580A, 10 0 eV, calibrated to isobutylene) The organic vapor reading was recorded on the boring log <br /> Sampling equipment was washed in an Alconox solution and rinsed with water prior to each <br /> sampling run to avoid cross-contamination <br />
