1 Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> Mel Bokides Petroleum Inc. <br />' 2191 Navy Drive, Stockton, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Nick Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum Inc ,Advanced GeoEnvlronmental, <br />' Inc (AGE) has prepared the enclosed Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report (PIER) for <br /> the former Mel Bokides Petroleum facility located at 2191 Navy Drive, Stockton, California (the <br /> site) <br /> The scope of work included excavation of approximately 50 yards of hydrocarbon impacted soil, <br /> establishment of 10 soil probe borings and collection and analysis of soil and ground water samples <br />' The location of the site with respect to its surroundings is illustrated In Figure 1 Buildings, <br /> excavation limits, excavation sample and boring locations on the site are illustrated In Figure 2 <br /> This report Is prepared In accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley"Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board guidelines for subsurface investigations of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> lie 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site Is located in an incorporated industrial/commercial area of west Stockton, California, on <br /> Navy Drive (Figure 1) The site Is presently utilized for shipping and receiving <br /> 2 1 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The mayor portion of the site is unpaved One structure, utilized for an office and a shop is located <br /> on the property (Figure 2) No wells are located on the property The surrounding sites are used for <br /> storage and auto dismantling, a railroad right-of-way Is located north of the site <br /> 22 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK ACTIVITY AND REMOVAL <br /> AGE has been informed that eight USTs, dispensers and piping were active on the site for 20 years, <br /> Installed sometime during the early 1980s The UST removals were witnessed by a representative <br /> of the PHS-EHD History of the UST use, tank tests, product Inventory and repairs are not known <br /> to AGE <br /> On 21 and 23 December 1998, one 20,000-gallon diesel UST, two 10,000-gallon diesel USTs, one <br /> 20,000-gallon gasoline UST, three 10,000-gallon gasoline USTs and one 1,000-gallon waste oil <br /> • <br /> Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
