(AGE) is
requesting a 90-day extension of the deadline for the installation of monitoring wells at 4040 East
Main Street, Stockton, California. In previous directives to Mr. Anber, the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) indicated that wells were to be installed by 01
February 2005.
As you are aware, Mr. Anber purchased the site via a tax lien auction from the County of San
Joaquin: At the time of purchase by Mr. Anber, there was no indication that the site was
contaminated and, therefore, he was somewhat unprepared for the additional costs associated with
the assessment and potential cleanup.
Mr. Anber has been pursuing reimbursement from the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund
(USTCF).AGE has recently submitted additional information to the USTCF on Mr.Anber's behalf
in hopes of obtaining approval for the claim. We are hopeful that the claim will be approved for
placement on the Priority List within the next 30 days. Once the USTCF has approved the claim for
placement on the Priority List, Mr. Anber has indicated that he will immediately authorize the
installation of the monitoring wells as well as any additional assessment necessary to delineate the
lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil and ground water.
Once the full extent of impacts to soil and ground water have been determined,a Corrective Action
Plan (CAP) will be prepared. Upon approval of the CAP by both the SJCEHD and USTCF,
implementation will occur. Any development of the property will be planned to accommodate
remediation.
837 Shaw Road,Stockton, California 95215
Telephone(209) 467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118
