Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2007
Former BLUE STAR GASOLINE STATION
4040 East Main Street, Stockton,California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Khalid Anber,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this
report of environmental activities conducted at 4040 East Main Street, Stockton, California(site).
The scope of work included the performance of a quarterly ground water monitoring event,
submission of monitoring and analytical data to the State Water Resources Control Board's
GeoTracker information management system, and preparation of this report. The site and
surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1;soil borings, former underground storage tanks(USTs),
and monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Site background information is included
in Appendix A.
2.0. PROCEDURES
Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)
sites and by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)for the sampling of
ground water monitoring wells. Ground water monitoring and sampling procedures were outlined
in the AGE-prepared Revised Monitoring Well Installation Workplan, dated 19 March 2004.
2.1. WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
On 12 March 2007, the depths to ground water in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 were
measured from the tops of the well casings (well heads) to the nearest 0.01-foot utilizing a Solinst
water level meter. Ground water elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the measured
depth to ground water from the surveyed casing elevation (Table 1). After water levels were
measured, approximately 9.5 to 12 gallons of water(a minimum of three casing water volumes per
well) were purged from wells MW-1 through MW-3 using a Waterra inertia pump and dedicated
tubing.
Ground water temperature,pH,and conductivity were measured for stabilization at regular intervals
during purging using an Oakton water analyzer. Field sheets and data are included in Appendix B.
Purged water was stored on-site in properly labeled,Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved
55-gallon drums pending proper disposal.
2.2. COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Ground water samples were collected from each well using the dedicated WaTerra tubing after
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
