Site Background Information: former Blue Star Gasoline
Page 3 of 3
installed at the site, with screened intervals installed from 60 feet to 80 feet bsg. No
petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in
the soil samples analyzed.
Analytical results of soil and grab ground water samples are included in Table 1 of this appendix.
To date, the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination is not yet defined.
STRATIGRAPHY
In general, silt and clayey silt were encountered from surface grade to 50 feet bsg in MW-1,67 feet
bsg in MW-2, and 77 feet in MW-3,underlain by alternating layers of silty sand, sandy silt, sand,
silt, and clayey silt to the total depths of the borings (80 feet to 85 feet bsg).
QUARTERLY GROUND WATER MONITORING EVENTS
From May 2005 through March 2007,AGE conducted eight ground water monitoring events at the
Blue Star Gasoline site. The three site wells are all impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons; the fuel
components detected have been TPH-g, MTBE and 1,2-DCA, with infrequent detections of the
BTEX compounds toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes.Generally, ground water elevation at the site
has been increasing since May 2005; contaminant concentrations in ground water have generally
increased or remained constant.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
