kn KLEINFELDER
At the end of the field day, the samples were separated and transported under chain-of-
custody to two certified analytical laboratories. Six primary soil samples were delivered to
Chemwest Analytical Laboratories and analyzed for organochlorine pesticides by EPA
Method 8080, and six duplicate samples were delivered to Enseco-California Analytical
Laboratories in West Sacramento and analyzed for carbamates and urea pesticides by EPA
Method 632 and thiocarbamates.
Organochlorine pesticides and/or carbamate and urea pesticides were detected in seven of
the twelve soil samples collected on November 4, 1988, at PS-3 (areas A, B, C, and D); and
DDT, endosulfan I, endosulfan II, endosulfan sulfate, eptam, and diuron were detected in
the surface samples collected during the preliminary soil sampling investigation on June 22,
1988. Analytical results of the soil samples collected during both investigations are
summarized on Table 4, PS-3 Soil Analytical Results Summary, and the sample locations
are shown on Plate 5, Appendix A.
161-89-107 10
