When contacted by telephone, the other <br /> contiguous property owners and businesses (at 1444 Tillie Lewis and the <br /> railway along the northern property boundary) indicated that they had <br /> sufficient information from the fact sheet and notice of availability of <br /> the draft RAP. <br /> 3.2 Staff of City and County Agencies <br /> Staff of the Environmental Health District have been aware of <br /> continuing investigation at the site, since they are the agency that issues <br /> permits for monitoring wells. The County Hazardous Waste Coordinator knew <br /> of the investigation at 2041 Navy Drive because of prior work with the <br /> County Toxics Task Force. He visited the site with the Task Force two or <br /> three years ago. The County Office of Emergency Services has a file on <br /> Lika, maintained by the Hazardous Materials Manager. Other County and City <br /> staff had been unaware of the investigation at 2041 Navy Drive until they <br /> were contacted as part of the community relations effort. <br /> County staff expressed no concerns; they said that DHS and the <br /> Environmental Health District seem to be keeping things in control . The <br /> Hazardous Waste Coordinator said that he felt the levels of metal in the <br /> soils are not particularly high. He asked to be kept informed of the <br /> cleanup, so that the site is characterized correctly in the County <br /> Hazardous Waste Management Plan. <br /> Concerns among City staff centered on possible effects on City workers <br /> or City property if contaminated groundwater or soils reached City right- <br /> of-way along Navy Drive. The City' s Risk Management Division was <br /> designated as primary City contact for future communications. The <br /> Department of Municipal Utilities asked to be placed on the mailing list. <br /> They commented that any wastewater discharged through the sanitary sewer to <br /> the city treatment plant during the cleanup must meet discharge standards <br /> H-8 <br />
