kTj KLEINFELDER
were not noted in any of the other soil samples collected. PID readings for the samples collected
ranged from 2.3 to 6.5 ppmv.
The borings were drilled, logged, and sampled following the protocol described in Attachment B.
Two-inch wells were constructed in the borings, as described in Appendix B, Section B-3.1. (A
bentonite seal and grout was not used since the wells were temporary). Temporary well TW-1
was screened from 50 to 65 feet, TW-2 was screened from 45 to 60 feet bgs., using Schedule 40
PVC pipe with 0.010 inch factory cut slots. Lonestar#2/#16 sand was used for a filter pack.
A total of 20 soil samples and two groundwater samples were collected at the site. Eleven soil
samples were collected from boring EB-1/TW-1, nine soil samples were collected from boring
EB-2/TW-2. One groundwater sample was collected from each of the two temporary wells EB-
1/TW-1 and EB-2/TW-2. One field and trip blank were also submitted for each of the two days
the temporary wells were being installed.
After collection, the soil and groundwater samples were labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody,
and immediately stored in an iced cooler. The samples were transported and transferred under
chain of custody control to Kleinfelder's office and then transported by courier in a sealed
container to Sequoia Analytical of Sacramento, California (Sequoia) for chemical analyses.
Sequoia is certified by the California Department of Toxic Substances to perform the requested
analyses.
A total of eight soil samples and six water samples (four blank samples and two groundwater
samples) were submitted for analyses for petroleum constituents and total lead. The blanks were
submitted for analyses for volatile constituents only.
Soil cuttings and water generated while drilling were placed in labeled 55-gallon drums and
stored on site pending chemical analysis. The 55-gallon drums were placed in a fenced area
south of March Lane and southwest of the intersection of March Lane and the LPRR tracks.
20-3712-08.E0I/2018R.510 Page 7 of 16
© 1998,Kleinfelder, Inc.
