03/12/97
Stockton Record Site Assessment
Discussed site with ML and KF.
600 E Market
The UST under the sidewalk on the north side of Hotel Cunningham if not in use
should be removed. If it is being used then it needs to be permitted. The
responsible party for this UST is COS because it is beneath the sidewalk. The
suspected tanks in the city parking lot behind the Shamrock are also owned by
the city. If they are there they should be removed. PHS/EHD has no records of
any of these UST's.
DTSC and the CVRWQCB-non tank unit have been notified of the presence of
TCE, PCE and DCE discovered in groundwater at sampling locations SB-8, SB-9
and SB-10
530 E Market
The reason for the assessment at this site is unknown since the property is
currently owned by the Record. The report recommends no further action in
reference to the investigated UST. PHS/EHD concurs that the submitted data
does not support additional investigation.
