Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Mike Infurna [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, July 06, 2005 2:42 PM
To: 'Jennifer Adler'
Subject: RE: Soil Borings
here's your official approval.
Ok to continue soil borings at Machado under SR#0042123.
-----Original Message-----
From: Jennifer Adler [mailto:JAdler@claytongrp.com]
Sent: Wednesday, July 06, 2005 1:57 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: Soil Borings
Ok, I think I see what happened. As of 5/11, BB-1 thru BB-21 had been
completed. I believe I intended to communicate that my turn in the
field was over, but that I'd be back the following week: in my mind, a
"phase" of fieldwork was complete (bear in mind I had a concurrent
boring project in Salinas, so I was going a bit nuts) .
On 5/12 and 5/13, Phil McLaughlin took over for me on the Machado
Property. On Friday 5/13, he began BB-46, got to 10' , and saw that the
boring needed to go deeper but it was getting late. He gave me a call
(while I was on my Salinas job) , and we decided that, rather than
continue the boring and finish up rather late on a Friday, they'd go
ahead and backfill it and clean up.
Monday, 5/16, I went back out to the Machado property and investigated
the deeper soil/gw at BB-46. We finished through BB-48, then called it
a day because the driller's allergies were out of control (I really
thought a doctor visit was in order, as swelling, redness, and hives
were involved) .
Anyway,
Tuesday 5/17 through Friday 5/20, Craig Pelletier went out to the
Machado property (I had worked a 70-hr week the previous week and by
Monday afternoon, I realized I needed some time to recover) , and he did
BB-49 through BB-117.
Monday 5/23, I went back out to Neighborhood B, and we did BB-118
through BB-143, finishing that string of borings. I don't know why we
spoke 5/26 rather than 5/23. It's quite likely that I just forgot to
call until then, as I had loads of paperwork to catch up on.
Since then, we've gotten the analytical back from the lab, and we've
identified the additional borings we need. We have not remobilized
after 5/23. The borings we'd like to do starting 7/13 will be our first
remob since the May investigation.
I apologize for my rather sloppy communication. I would not advance
any borings without speaking with you first and securing your approval.
Jennifer
Jennifer Adler
Staff Consultant
Clayton Group Services
1
