The Monitoring Well workplan proposes the
installation of monitoring wells along a 5.200-foot section of two former Shell Oil Central
Valley Crude Pipelines (pipeline) that transect Neighborhood C & D. DTSC limited its
evaluation to the 1 ,000-foot section of pipeline that transects the proposed Mountain
House High School (MHHS).
In addition, DTSC reviewed the Remedial Action Report (RAR - SAIC, March 2007)
developed on behalf of Shell Oil Products (Shell) which summarized the initial
investigation of the pipeline removal. Based on the review of the data provided in the
RAR, DTSC did not believe that existing levels of total petroleum hydrocarbons or
benzene would contribute a significant health risk to the future occupants of MHHS via
vapor intrusion.
Comments regarding the Monitoring Well workplan are enclosed.
Printed on Recycled Paper
