G rl
 r
ly
•
KEI-J92-0205.R4
July 6, 1994
Unocal Corporation
2000 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 400
P.O. Box 5155
San Ramon, California 94583
Attention: Mr. Robert A. Boust
RE: Case Closure Report
Former Unocal Bulk Plant #0950
2835 Navy Drive
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Boust:
INTRODUCTION
This report presents a comprehensive summary of all of the soil
sampling, ground water monitoring and sampling, and soil remedia-
tion activities that were conducted by Kaprealian Engineering, Inc.
• (KEI) at the referenced site from April 1992 through May 1993 .
This report also presents a brief and partial summary of some of
the site assessment work conducted by other consultants prior to
KEI ' s involvement at this former Unocal facility. This report was
prepared in accordance with Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommenda-
tions for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground
Tank Sites - Request for Closure (Appendix B) guidance document.
The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board' s (RWQCB)
"Case Closure Checklist" has also been completed and is attached to
this report. Based on the analytical results of all of the soil
and ground water samples collected and evaluated to date, it is
KEI ' s opinion that no further ground water monitoring and sampling
is warranted at the Unocal site, unless required by regulatory
agencies.
SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND
The subject site was formerly used as a bulk petroleum product
marketing station. The Unocal site is located at the Port of
Stockton, on the southwest side of the City of Stockton, Califor-
nia. The site is bordered by Stork Road on the east and Navy Drive
on the west (Figure 1) , and is situated approximately 1, 200 feet
east of the San Joaquin Raver and 4 , 000 feet south of the Stockton
Deep Water Channel. The area surrounding the site is heavily
industrialized and includes a municipal sewage treatment plant and
sewage disposal ponds. A Location Map is attached to this report.
•
2401 Stanwell Drive,Suite 400
Concord California 94520
Tel 510 602 5100 Fax 510 687 0602
