Box 5155
San Ramon, California 94583
Attention: Mr. Robert A. Boust
i
RE: Quarterly Report
Former Unocal Bulk Plant #0950
2835 Navy Drive
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Boust:
This report presents the results of the most recent quarter of
monitoring and sampling of the monitoring wells at the referenced
site by Kaprealian Engineering, Inc. (KEI) , per KEI ' s proposal
(KEI-P92-0205 .P3) dated October 6, 1992 . The wells are currently
monitored monthly and sampled on a quarterly basis. This report
. covers the work performed by KEI from December of 1992 through
February of 1993 .
BACKGROUND
The subject site was formerly used as a bulk petroleum product
storage and distribution facility. It is KEI 's understanding that
in 1988 Kleinfelder installed seven monitoring wells and drilled
two exploratory borings during a soil and ground water assessment
at the referenced site. Documentation of the sample collection
techniques and analytical results are presented in Kleinfelder ' s
problem assessment report (Kleinfelder Job No. 24-2059-01) dated
September 1, 1988 . Two underground diesel storage tanks (with
individual capacities of 20, 000 and 10, 000 gallons) were removed
from the site on April 22 , 1992 . Soil contamination detected
beneath the fuel tanks was overexcavated to a depth of 0. 5 foot
below ground water (11 feet below grade) .
A summary of all of the soil and ground water subsurface investiga-
tion/remediation work conducted to date by KEI , and tables that
summarize all of the soil and ground water sample analytical
results are presented in KEI 's reports (KEI-J92-0205 .R1) dated
October 6 , 1992 , and (KEI-P92-0205 .R2) dated December 1 , 1992 .
RECENT FIELD ACTIVITIES
• The seven monitoring wells (MW1 through MW7) were monitored three
times and were sampled once during the quarter, except for wells
2401 Stanwell Drive Suite 400
Concord Celifornta 94520
Ti 1510 602 5100 Fax 510 687 0602
