Ms. Gail Wiggett Project 20C42-001.026
June 25, 1998
Page 4
CONCLUSIONS
The grouting procedures were conducted to obtain the project objectives of sealing a
conduit for vertical migration of the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons. The volume of
grout placed of 9 cubic yards exceeded the estimated quantity by approximately 5.6 times.
This volume sealed the borehole to 55 feet, accounting for voids in the annular space, thus
sealing the formation wall. The first-encountered water-bearing zone is the source of
groundwater impact to deeper zones, and the grouting procedure removed the well bore as
a man-made conduit for vertical migration.
The information presented addresses the issues regarding the well abandonment
procedures. If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
EMCON
Mark Capps, R.G. #6561 Charles S.
