(Stantec) submits this permit application packet for the destruction of one monitoring well (OW-1A) at the above referenced site. This well destruction is proposed in Stantec's May 24, 2012 Addendum to Well Destruction Work Plan. Stantec's original May 4, 2012 Well Destruction Work Plan was approved by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) in a letter dated May 18, 2012 (attached). Attached are a well permit application, a check for well destruction fees ($125), a site map with the well location, and related required documents. The RWQCB is aware of the upcoming field work and has promised a quick review and approval of the Addendum. Stantec will email you a copy of the RWQCB approval letter upon receipt. Due to existing construction schedules, Stantec respectfully requests an expedited approval of this permit application to avoid interruption of subcontractors at the Port of Stockton Biomass Treatment Facility currently under construction. Drilling activities are tentatively scheduled for May 30, 2012 with WDC Exploration and Wells. Before any excavation work will take place Underground Service Alert will be notified and a private utility locate company will be contracted. Additionally the well will be hand cleared to five feet below ground surface with a hand auger prior to drilling operations.
