(Stantec) submits this permit application packet for the destruction of 30 monitoring
wells and the installation of one replacement monitoring well at the above referenced site. This well
destruction was proposed in Stantec's May 4, 2012 Well Destruction Work Plan, which was
approved by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) in a letter dated
May 18, 2012 (attached).
Attached are a well permit application, a check for well destruction fees ($3,875), a site map with
the well locations, and related required documents. Due to existing construction schedules,
Stantec respectfully requests an expedited approval of this permit application to avoid interruption
of subcontractors at the Tesoro Stockton Terminal currently under construction.
Drilling activities are tentatively scheduled to begin June 5, 2012 with WDC Exploration and Wells.
Before any excavation work will take place Underground Service Alert will be notified and a private
utility locate company will be contracted. Additionally the wells will be hand cleared to five feet
below ground surface with a hand auger prior to drilling operations.
