All personnel onsite <br /> will be advised to work safely and avoid unnecessary risks <br /> associated with operation of this equipment. Hard hats, steel- <br /> toed boots and eye protection will be standard protective <br /> equipment. <br /> 4.4 Particulates <br /> Dust impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons may be present in <br /> the soil onsite. This material presents a potential hazard <br /> through skin exposure and possible inhalation. <br /> CONTROL: Gloves and protective clothing will be worn to <br /> guard against dermal exposure to these materials. If significant <br /> dust is generated during field work, dust control will be initiated <br /> and personnel on the work site will wear APR's equipped with <br /> combination organic vapor / high efficiency particulate air <br /> (NEPA) cartridges. <br /> 5.0 EXPOSURE MONITORING AND ACTION LEVELS <br /> H-Nu Monitoring.* Protective Measures <br /> 0 to 5 ppm None. <br /> 5 to 10 ppm APR with combination cartridges. <br /> Use detector tube monitoring for <br /> benzene. <br /> 10 to 50 ppm APR with combination cartridges; <br /> ventilate drillsite. <br /> Page 5 <br />
