Original analysis of the soil below the storage tank indicated
that some gasoline contamination may be present. The following is a proposed work plan for the
investigation_
111E SILTE INVESTIGATION WORK PLAN
We propose to place a soil boring at or near the center of the excavation of the removed underground
storage tank. Soil samples will be taken at ten foot intervals by a split spoon sampler from a hollow
stern auger. Each sample will be logged for soil classification and marked far identification.
Each soil tube will be capped with a layer of aluminum foil secured by plastic caps, sealed with duct
tape, labeled for identification, and stored on ice for transport to the laboratory. Soil samples will be
transported under a chain of custody to Sherwood Labs of Hilmar, Ca. for analysis. Samples will be
analyzed per EPA Methods 8020(BTEJ),(MTBE), and 5030/8015"TPH Gasoline.
If the soil samples indicate that the contamination is at or near the existing water table, a 2"PVC
monitoring well will be installed. The monitoring well will be purged and sampled as per standard
practices of the industry.
Please address any questions, corrections,or additions to Ery Rifenburg,Foothill Engineering, phone
209/368-9381
Respectfully submitted,
pISFESSp
Fo n eery
 m
No.
r Rifen urg P Exp,
cc:Dr. Delph o 'at,;r
