Box 2009 0 (1601 est Hazelton Avenue) 0 Stockton,California 95201 <br /> (209)468-3400 <br /> C00' Fly <br /> ,0 C T 0 81993 <br /> WILBUR DELPH <br /> 9629 NORTH HWY 99 <br /> STOCKTON CA 95212 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division has completed the review of <br /> the workplan to over-excavate the former gasoline tank pit area,'dated August 26, 1993, and has the <br /> following comments. <br /> Olfactory and visual observations of the soil during the over-excavation activities may allow flexibility as to <br /> the actual number of samples needed to confirm the removal of the contaminated soil from the former <br /> gasoline tank pit area. At a minimum, however,you should be prepared to obtain at least one bottom and <br /> four sidewall soil samples from the finished excavation. These samples should be analyzed for the <br /> following constituents of gasoline: <br /> * total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline using EPA methods 5030/8015 (minimum detection <br /> limit of 50 parts per million) <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene using EPA methods 5030/8020 (minimum detection <br /> limit of 0.005 pans per million) <br /> * total lead using EPA method 7420- bottom sample only (minimum detection limit of 5.0 parts <br /> per million) <br /> The over-excavation can be scheduled to begin at any time.
