At a minimum, however,you should be prepared to obtain at least one bottom and <br /> four sidewall soil samples from the finished excavation. These samples should be analyzed for the <br /> following constituents of gasoline: <br /> * total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline using EPA methods 5030/8015 (minimum detection <br /> limit of 50 parts per million) <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene using EPA methods 5030/8020 (minimum detection <br /> limit of 0.005 pans per million) <br /> * total lead using EPA method 7420- bottom sample only (minimum detection limit of 5.0 parts <br /> per million) <br /> The over-excavation can be scheduled to begin at any time.
