Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201 (Our Job No. F-88224)
Attention: Ms. Diane Hinson
Gentlemen:
Supplementary Information
Proposed Site Assessment
Assessor Parcel Number 161-030-02
North of and Adjacent to the Shell
Oil Company Bulk Fuel Terminal
Rough and Ready Island
Stockton California
As per your request of July 22, 1988, we are submitting the
following supplementary information regarding LeRoy Crandall and
Associates' proposed site assessment at the above described parcel in
Stockton, California.
The seven proposed soil borings will be drilled to approximate
12-foot-depths using a 6k-inch-diameter, truck-mounted, hollow-stem
flight auger drill rig. The drilling subcontractor will be selected
after approval to proceed has been obtained. The soils at each boring
location will be selectively sampled from approximately 3 to 6 feet and
9 to 12 feet below ground surface. The samples will be obtained with a
modified, California split-spoon sampler using 24" x 6" brass sleeve
inserts. The sampler will be decontaminated between samples using a
laboratory grade detergent and clean water.
During our drilling, a ground water sample will be obtained from
the existing, on-site monitoring well, MW-19. Prior to collection,
three to five well volumes will be bailed using a clean teflon bailer.
The sample will be stored in an EPA-approved glass container.
The soil and water samples will be sealed, labelled, and stored
in an iced chest prior to shipment to Environmental Testing and Certifi-
cation, a State certified laboratory in Santa Rosa, California. The
shipment will be accompanied by chain-of-custody documentation. The
ground water and selected soil samples will be analyzed for purgeable
organic compounds using EPA Method 624.
