A temporary GWE system began operating on April 10, 2006. The GWE system pumps groundwater <br /> from well MW-1 using a top loading submersible pneumatic pump. Groundwater is stored in an onsite <br /> baker tank and vacuum trucks transport the water to Shell's Martinez Refinery for recycling. As of <br /> December 15, 2006, approximately 11,010,666 gallons of groundwater have been extracted. During the <br /> second half of 2006, approximately 80,487 gallons of groundwater were treated. The GWE system flow <br /> rates averaged 0.3 gallons per minute. <br /> 1729 5 <br />
