The site assessment will consist of the drilling of j. <br /> three exploratory borings to collect soil and groundwater samples, and the sampling of <br /> the on-site domestic well. The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate possible <br /> hydrocarbon impact to soil and groundwater at the site. <br /> This work plan includes a brief discussion of site background and previous s <br /> investigations, proposed scope of work, and schedule. Field and laboratory procedures ? <br /> are presented as Attachment A. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS <br /> The site is an active service station located at 25650 Highway 99 North in Acampo, a <br /> California. <br /> On August 25, 1993, one waste oil underground storage tank(UST) and one heating oil <br /> UST were removed. One soil sample was taken from beneath each of the USTs. The <br /> Heating oil UST soil sample,D-1-9',reported non-detectable levels for all analyzed <br /> constituents. The waste oil UST soil sample,WO-1-9',reported non-detectable levels <br /> of all analyzed constituents except for chromium at 29 parts per million(ppm), lead at 7 <br /> ppm, zinc at 44 ppm, and nickel at 21 ppm. <br /> On December 15, 1993, one 10,000 gallon, two 6,000 gallon, and one 3,000 gallon <br /> single walled steel USTs were removed.
