Installed wells shall be free of extraneous objects or materials (e.g., tools, <br /> pumps, bailers, soils, grout, etc.). <br /> 3.07 SAMPLING AND LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> Before taking any water samples, the selected strata shall be pumped for at least 2 hours to ensure a <br /> representative water sample. During the 2-hour pump test, the pumping rate and water level in the <br /> casing shall be measured and recorded every one-half hour. At the end of the pump test, the <br /> Contractor shall retrieve at least 3 gallons of water sample from each of the selected independent <br /> strata encountered in the test hole. Water samples shall be collected by an approved water sample <br /> pump. Water samples shall be submitted by the Contractor for laboratory analysis for the following <br /> parameters: <br /> Total Hardness <br /> Calcium (Ca) <br /> Magnesium (Mg) <br /> Sodium (Na) <br /> Potassium (K) <br /> Total Cations <br /> Total Alkalinity <br /> Hydroxide Alkalinity <br /> Carbonate Alkalinity <br /> Bicarbonate Alkalinity <br /> Sulfate (SO4) <br /> Chloride (Cl) <br /> Nitrate (NO3-N) <br /> Fluoride (F) <br /> Total Anions <br /> pH <br /> Specific Conductance (EC) <br /> Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) <br /> Copper (Cu) <br /> Iron (Fe) <br /> Manganese (Mn) <br /> Zinc (Zn) <br /> In addition, organics analyses shall be performed utilizing EPA Methods 601 and 602. The cost <br /> for all laboratory analyses shall be included in the bid. <br /> 3.08 CLEANUP <br /> Following completion of his work, the Contractor shall remove from the premises and work <br /> areas all excess materials, tools, and equipment used in the execution of his work, and shall <br /> properly dispose of all debris resulting from his work. <br /> END OF SECTION <br /> 11 <br />
