We would contact you for authorization, however, before proceeding with any additional service. • This proposal will be adequate to obtain authorization from the PHS/EHD. If a more comprehensive workplan is necessary, additional charge for workplan preparation will be incurred. • Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance the soil borings at the proposed locations. If the drilling equipment cannot be positioned, alternative drilling locations or sampling methods should be investigated. The borings are to be drilled with a truck mounted drill rig equipped with hollow stem augers. If alternative drilling methods or concrete cutting are required, additional costs may be incurred. • Adequate power and lighting will be available for all field work. If not available, additional charges may be borne by the client. • No respiratory protection or shoring will be necessary. • Soil and water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the responsibility of the client and disposal costs have not been included in our estimate. Soil cuttings will be placed on plastic and covered. Water generated from development and/or purging the wells along with equipment decontamination rinseate will be placed in 55-gallon drums and left adjacent to the soil boring. Disposal or remediation options for the soil and water can be assessed once analytical results have been received at an additional charge. Kleinfelder can assist the client with the disposal of soil and water if necessary at an additional charge. • Traffic control will not be required. • Encroachment permits will not be required by the Caltrans or the City of Escalon; however if required, additional fees will be incurred. • The client will be responsible for locating all underground utilities and other subsurface structures that could interfere with drilling operations or be damaged during drilling. Failure to locate such lines or structures will be the sole responsibility of the client. Underground Services Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444 provides this service free of charge for major utility lines.
