<br /> We have reviewed the 20 August 1999 Draft Remedial Investigation Report(Draft RI Report) submitted by LFR
<br /> Levine Fricke (LFR). Our comments on this report are in the attached memorandum.
<br /> Most of the memorandum comments address the subsurface data presentation and interpretation. This includes
<br /> the lack of discussion considering the on-going source of pollution at the site: dense nonaqueous phase liquid.
<br /> DNAPL is inferred at the site,yet the Draft RI Report does not adequately focus on.its presence. Additionally,
<br /> the extent of contaminants upgradient from the site and in the lower aquifers may need further assessment.
<br /> While the source area remediation plan may be designed without consideration of the upgradient and lower zone
<br /> aquifer contamination,DNAPL occurrence and distribution need consideration.
