There are three isomers, ortho, meta, and para. <br /> Exposure to high concentrations of xylene vapor may result in eye and skin irritation. It is a known human carcinogen , <br /> that causes liver and blood tumors. It is a poison by inhalation. It is also a severe skin <br /> and eye irritant and can cause skin burns by rapid evaporation and consequent freezing. ' <br /> Chronic exposure has also shown liver injury. Short-term exposure to vinyl chloride <br /> can cause dizziness, light-headedness, nausea, dullness of visual and auditory <br /> responses, drowsiness, and unconsciousness. Irritation of the skin and eyes can also , <br /> occur. Skin contact with the liquid can cause frostbite. Vinyl chloride is classified by <br /> the U.S. EPA as a Group A human carcinogen.
