Drawer 20
Stockton, CA 95201-9978
LINCOLN VILLAGE PHASE II SAMPLING PLAN, STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COIINTY (CASE
NO. 3002)
We have reviewed your revised Phase II Sampling Plan for Lincoln Village Center
dated 8 February 1990. The Sampling Plan has improved but is still not
sufficient and should be revised to address all our comments detailed in the
enclosed memorandum, our letter dated 21 December 1989 and summarized as follows:
1 . Monthly water level contour maps must be included in the Sampling Plan.
2. Water samples should be analyzed for EPA 601 compounds not just PCE. Even
though we agree that PCE is the focus of the ground water investigation,
monitoring for PCE breakdown products is useful .
3. The rationale for placement of the proposed monitoring wells.
4. The plan should address evaluation and sampling of LVMD well Nos. 1 , 2 and
6.
S. A plan to define off-site pollution across Gettysburg Place and around MW-4
should be included.
You are required to submit a revised Sampling Plan by 13 April 1990. If we could
be of assistance, please me at (916) 361-5670 or Richard McHenry at (916)
361-5656.
6V
ANORSTER
Senior Engineer
RPM:ej
Enclosure
cc: ZM[.
