Foster Road
Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670
Re: Thrifty Oil Company Station #172
(Circle K Facility#2705449
7647 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Panitescu:
Tosco Real Estate and Environmental Departments recently mailed out several hundred
letters to landlords regarding a release of petroleum hydrocarbons ("release") on their
property with which we lease. We were providing an opportunity to the landlord to enter
into a Commitment Statement as allowed by the California Environmental Responsibility
Acceptance Act.
Unfortunately a letter was inadvertently mailed to Gerald Greenberg of Thrifty Oil, as the
blind mailing caught the above mentioned site as one with which we lease. As you are
aware the release of hydrocarbons which exists at this site is not the responsibility of
Tosco Corporation and predated the date with which Tosco began leasing the property.
Please be advised that by Tosco erroneously mailing this letter in no way constitutes an
acceptance of liability for the release. Please disregard the letter of July 29, 2000 and we
apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Thank you for your cooperation and please call if you have any further questions.
Vet truly yours,
_LC,,4a LqAA61-
Margaret M.
