I don't have the time now to dive into anything but the
MW-4 issue.
Send me a proposal to destroy MW-4. plan on an overbore, and if excavation/grade cuts are
in the plans for this remodel area, then grout the destroyed well/hole back with bentonite slurry
to the surface. Any cuts/grade mods will not affect the grouted hole like it would if it was
hardened cement grout.
The lost of this upgradient well leaves a good size gap between MW-5 & MW-7. Add to this,
the low levels of gw hits in MW-4, I strongly recommend it be replaced. If you/COP/Stantec
disagree, include a technical justification why in the work plan to destroy MW-4.
I'll review and comment back. If you agree, plan on replacing it somewhere near the bldg, and
upgradient of the UST pit. I may need to see the proposed layout of the remodel so I know
better how to evaluate MW-4 replacement, if applicable.
as I get time, I will review your letter more and get an understanding of your plans to restart,
mobile test, meeting date, etc. I've got too much going on now to complete it now.
generally speaking, I'm still working with the same game plan for this site. If it qualifies for
NFA, then go with that. If not, then remediate it to a point it does qualify for NFA. either way,
progress.
as long as you continue to progress, either in evaluating the need for remediation, and
6/10/2010
