r y, laboratory analytical results are presented in Appendix D, and copies of inlet and outlet vapor sample laboratory analytical results are presented in Appendix E A historical summary of hydrocarbons removed by vapor extraction is presented in Table 3 The Field Status Report is included in Appendix C Groundwater Treatment System The groundwater system was started in conjunction with the vapor system on April 26, 2001, and the flow meter started at zero Presently, the remediation system is connected to groundwater wells MW-10 and MW-11 Two down well pneumatic pumps (one in each well), draws water into a 150 gallon poly tank which then transfers the water through (2) one thousand pound canisters with carbon, using an air compressor During this reporting period, the groundwater extraction system treated and discharged approximately 27,607 gallons as of July 5, 2001 Field status reports, and the AGE startup report are presented in Appendix C and G, respectively As with the vapor system, EMC took over operation of the groundwater treatment unit from AGE on June 26, 2001 The groundwater remediation system influent and effluent streams were sampled on May 10 and July 5, 2001 for TPH-g by EPA method 8015, BTEX/MTBE by EPA method 8021B,pH by EPA method 150 1, and ICP total metals-water only by EPA method 200 7 Laboratory results of the groundwater samples are included in Appendix F Historical groundwater system operations are reported in Table 4 Summary and Recommendations On April 12, 2001, Thrifty's consultant AGE of Stockton, California performed vapor remediation system start-up test operations AGE then started the vapor remediation system for permanent operation on April 26,2001, the vapor system was shut down from April 12 through April 26, 2001 The groundwater remediation was started on April 26,2001 for permanent operations The remedial operation and maintenance activities for vapor and groundwater were transferred from AGE to EMC on June 26, 2001 A total of 24,810 pounds of hydrocarbons have been destroyed by the vapor extraction system and 27,607 gallons of groundwater treated by the groundwater system Thrifty requests that the oxygenates sampling scheduled for this site be changed from a quarterly event to an annual event The proposed annual oxygenate sampling event would take place during the 1st quarter of each year, unless otherwise directed by the SJCPHS This request is the follow up to a telephone conversation between Mr Raymond C Fnedrichsen (Thrifty representative) and Mr Mike Infurna, Jr on December 14, 2000 Thrifty is still awaiting a response from your office Thrifty will continue quarterly groundwater monitoring, gauging, purging and sampling of all groundwater monitoring wells, and operation of the remediation system
