SWETT& CRAWFORD
711 North Pershing Avenue SITE CODE. PR#009297
Stockton, CA 95203
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) has reviewed and
accepted the"Closure Report"dated August 12, 1996 as submitted by Upgradient Environmental
Consultants and has the following comments.
On September 18, 1996, Wendy Wyels of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) contacted me and informed me that the low levels of Chlordane (0.3 mg/kg) and 4,4-DDT
(0.42 mg/kg) found in the soil sample SP-14A at 6.5 feet below the surface, will not require further
investigation or cleanup. These contaminants have not been detected in the groundwater since the
investigation began and PHS-EHD and the CVRWQCB have concluded that chances are very remote that
they will.
With this in mind, PHS-EHD has concluded that you have completed the required investigation and will not
require any further investigation or cleanup at this site at this time.
In order to issue the site certification letter, PHS-EHD will require your account to be paid in full. Please
contact me at(209)468-3454 to verify your ending balance or you may wait until you receive your latest
bill sometime in mid October 1996. it is my intention to complete all of my closure activities for this site by
September 30, 1996 so that no further billing will be generated into October.
Thank you for all of your and your consultant's cooperation during these many months of investigation. If I
can be of any help to you in the future, please contact me directly.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Heal Divisio
/A +-I
Michael Infurna Jr., enior REHS Margaret L Bono, RENS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
MI!
c: Upgradient-Victor Cherven
c: CVRWQCB-W.
