i
April 1, 1999
cost effect alternative at this time. The mass removal through excavation is intended to expedite the
site closure process and allow scheduled development to continue without further delay_ It is
PHSIEHD's understanding that Mr. List(CVRWQCB) is supporting this workplan approval conceptually
at this time.
PHS/EHD is aware of a formal agreement between the City of Ripon and the responsible party to
expedite and manage corrective action activities and the highway project. The property transfer
process will proceed from the current owner as responsible party, to the City of Ripon given the
property is within the City Limits, then finally to California Department of Transportation.
PHSIEHD has informed the respective parties above that they are required to seek pre-approval for
costs associated with corrective action activities. The site RP has been issued a Letter of Commitment
by the USTCF. The City of Ripon Engineer, Dale Ramey has expressed an interest in contacting the
Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund(USTCF)to expedite this requirement.
Should you have questions regarding this correspondence please contact me at (209) 468-0342?
Thanks, Ron.
I
I
I
I
• Page 2
