(AGE) on your behalf. During
the review process, EHD discovered that it does not have the field logs for soil borings
PI and P2, advanced in January 1999, and laboratory analytical data for grab
groundwater samples collected from soil borings B1 on February 25, 1999, B2 on
February 26, 1999, and B3 on March 1, 1999. Please submit these field logs and
laboratory results to EHD by April 11,2007.
Additional investigation is needed to define the groundwater plume containing 1,2-
dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) currently detected in groundwater samples collected from four
of the five monitoring wells at your site and detected in grab groundwater samples
collected at 135 feet below surface grade (bsg) from cone penetrometer testing (CPT)
boring CPTL Please submit a work plan to EHD by April 11, 2007, that will address the
lateral extent of chemicals of concern (COC) to the east, south, and west of the former
underground storage tanks (UST) as well as the vertical extent of COC at the source area.
AGE recommends in Quarterly Report— Third Quarter 2006, dated January 9, 2007, that
monitoring well MW-2 be sampled annually for the COC instead of quarterly since
groundwater results for all COC have been non-detect since April 2000. EHD concurs
with this recommendation and directs that MW-2 be sampled annually during the first
quarterly groundwater monitoring event. Please continue to collect depth to water
measurements in this well during each quarterly groundwater monitoring event for the
purpose of determining the groundwater gradient.
Tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether
(ETBE), and tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME) have not been detected in any of the
