Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc . '
08 April 1999
AGE-NC Project"No. 98-0540
Mr. Veer Singh
25355 North Highway 99
Acampo, CA 95220
Subject: Estimated Additional Costs for Assessment and Remediation
PACIFIC AUTO CENTER
25355 North HighNvay 99, Acampo, California
Dear Mr. Singh:
At your request,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the following summary of
anticipated additional work and estimated costs for 25355 North Highway 99, Acampo, California.
AGE has drilled and installed two soil borings and three ground water monitoring wells at the site.
During drilling, soil samples«°ere collected from each boring/monitoring well. Laboratory analysis
of selected soil samples indicate that low concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons are present in
soil between depths of approximately 30 and 75 feet. At this time, concentrations are too low to
justify remediation. Therefore, we do not anticipate directly addressing soil contamination at this
site.
Samples collected from two of the wells indicate that dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons are present
in ground water at the site. However, at least one additional monitoring well will be required to
define the lateral extent of impacted ground water. We anticipate installing this additional.well east
of the site, along the County of San Joaquin right-of-way. After this well is installed and sampled,
corrective action (remediation) will then be considered. HoNvever, based upon data collected from
the site, and the apparent lack of sensitive receptors in the area, it does not appear that aggressive
ground -vater remediation will be justified at this site. A sensitive receptor survey will be performed
prior to initiation of a monitoring program or remediation. If necessary, it appears that less
aggressive remediation methods(e.g. biosparging or bioaugmentation) would be more cost-effective
at the site.
The following is a brief summary of anticipated costs for the site, based upon present information
and the lack of need for aggressive remedial measures:
Installation of Additional Monitoring Well: S 4,000 - S 5,000
Ground Water Monitoring & Reporting (1 ),ear): $13,000 - $15,000
4005 North Wilson Way, Stockton.
