Preliminary Site Assessment Work PIan
PACIFIC AUTO CENTER
25355 North Highway 99, Acampo, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Veer Singh, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the
enclosed Work Plan for the Pacific Auto Center site located at 25355 North Highway 99, Acampo,
California. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 - Location Map. A plan of the site is
illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan.
This Work Plan is proposed to evaluate the vertical and lateral extent of potential petroleum
hydrocarbon impacts at the site and is prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD). The proposed investigation is not being
required by any regulatory agency.
2.0. BACKGROUND
AGE has been informed that three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site
in 1978. The contents and volume of each UST is not known, however, the site was formerly
operated as a Mobil gasoline station. Two concrete dispenser islands are still present at the site. The
USTs were apparently removed from an area north of the former dispenser islands. The area is not
paved. A former waste oil UST was probably located near the garage area; the area is not paved and
has been backfilled with soil and pea gravel.
AGE is unaware of any soil samples collected during the removal of the USTs. However, the former .
UST area was re-excavated in 1988 and, according to information and records provided to AGE by
Mr. Singh, no petroleum hydrocarbons were encountered.
In addition to the former UST locations, AGE also identified the following areas of potential
environmental concern during a site reconnaissance :
• A domestic water well located near the northeast corner of the property.
• An in-ground hydraulic lift is located inside the garage area.
• A two stage separator/clarifier is located inside the garage area.
• A septic system is located northwest of the garage area.
Ground water depth in the area of the site is estimated to be 65 to 70 feet below surface grade, based
upon the reap Lines of Equal Depth to Ground Water in Wells - Spring 1996, prepared by the San
Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
