' 25 March 2005
AGE-NC Project No 98-0540
' DHS-certified analytical laboratory
The samples were analyzed for the following constituents
' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M, and
' • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and the fuel additives methyl
tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-Isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl
' tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB)
and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method SW846 8260B
' 3.0. FINDINGS
' Ground water elevation and flow direction were deduced from field data, the hydrocarbon-impact
to ground water was assessed by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
' 3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1) Depths to ground water for the 09 December 2004
' monitoring event ranged from 8144 feet to 8148 feet below the tops of the well casings Ground
water elevations at the site ranged from 24 72 feet below mean sea level (MSL) In MW-2 to 24 77
feet below MSL in MW-1 The maximum groundwater gradient was calculated to be 0 002 foot/foot
with a flow direction to the southwest(Figure 4)
I
' 32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 and MW-3 during the
' December 2004 monitoring event at concentrations of 250 micrograms per liter(µg/1)and 350 µg/1,
respectively(Table 2)
' The fi cl additive 1,2-DCA was detected In the ground water samples from MW-I and MW-3 at
concentrations of 240 µg/l and 350 µg11, respectively No other target analytes were detected above
laboratory reporting limits from the monitoring event
'
Analytical results of round water samples are summarized In Table 2 Copies of the laboratory
yt g p p
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
