07 March 2003
AGE-NC Project No 98-0540
The samples were analyzed for the following constituents
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M,
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTE&X)in accordance with EPA Method
8021B, and
• BTE&X and the fuel additives methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol
(TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl
ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA)in accordance
with EPA Method SW846 8260B
' Ground water samples from the on-site domestic well and the domestic well located at 25362 North
Highway 99 East Frontage Road,Acampo, California were also collected and analyzed To ensure
that formation water was being produced, water was allowed to run out of the well for approximately
15 minutes Ground water was poured directly Into the 40-m1 VOA vials from a faucet at the well
head
3 0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation and flow direction were deducted from field data while the hydrocarboii-
Iimpact to ground water was assessed by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1) Depths to ground water ranged from 76 99 feet to
77 13 feet below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 20 27
feet below mean sea level (MSL) in MW-2 to 20 39 feet below MSL in MW-3 The maximum
ground water gradient was calculated to be 0 003 feet/feet with a southeasterly flow direction(Figure
3)
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples collected from MW-1 and MW-3 at concentrations
• of 390 micrograms per liter(µg/1) and 2,800 pg/l, respectively (Table 2)
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
