' 07 April 1999
. AGE-NC Project No 98-0540
' in ground water measurements or changes of recharge/discharge of the local ground water
could greatly modify ground water flow direction
• Laboratory analysis of ground water monitoring samples indicate that the highest
' concentrations of TPH-g is located near MW-2 and MW-3
BTEX compounds were detected in MW-2 and MW-3 at elevated concentrations
' 0 Fuel Oxygenates were detected in samples from MW-2 and MW-3 at elevated
concentrations
• MTBE was not detected in the ground water monitoring samples collected from MW-1,
MW-2, or MW-3
• Field observations and laboratory data from the March 1999 grab ground water sampling
event and the March 1999 ground water monitoring and sampling event indicate an anomaly
within the data TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE were detected in grab ground water samples
Icollected from B 1(MW-1),but were not detected in ground water monitoring samples from
MW-1 Furthermore, grab groundwater samples collected from B3(MW-2)were none detect
for petroleum hydrocarbons, but had elevated levels of impaction from ground water
.} monitoring samples collected It is AGE's opinion that the analytical anomaly could be either
a mistake by the laboratory or by the field technician, or may reflect changing conditions in
the subsurface Data from subsequent monitoring events should resolve the anomaly
I5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
IBased upon data collected during January and March 1999, AGE recommends
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling should be performed at the site
Ito better characterize the hydrocarbon impact on ground water on the site and plume stability
• Further subsurface evaluation focused in the down-gradient direction (approximately N52E)
to determine the Iateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted ground water
7.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
Ienvironmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number
Advanced GcoEnlronmental,Inc
