' Atlantic Richfield Company 4 ARCO 595 6100 North Highway 99 Stockton CA December 12 2001 • Well development and groundwater sampling parameters are included on the field sheets ' in Attachment G The wells were surveyed relative to mean sea level by Morrow Surveying, a California ' licensed surveyor Attachment F contains the surveyor's site plan showing the locations and elevations of the wells Groundwater Flow Direction ' Based on monitoring data collected on July 30, 2001, groundwater flow was to the northwest at a gradient of 0 002 (Figure 3) Depth to groundwater at the site ranged from ' 58 60 feet bgs to 63 17 feet bgs A groundwater elevation contour map is presented in Figure 6 This gradient will be confirmed during the fourth quarter monitoring ' Well Survey As reported in the Site Assessment Report dated October 2, 2000, SECOR performed a ' water well survey to identify the location of permitted water supply wells within a i/2- mile radius of the site The water well survey included a review of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) files for the area Additionally, SECOR ' contacted the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County Public Works Department, which are the local water purveyors According to these sources, no municipal wells are . operated in the survey area by City of Stockton and San Joaquin County Public Works ' Department A total of five wells were located within the search area during the initial search, including an active domestic well on the southwest corner of the ARCO property ' As indicated in SCPHS letter dated October 26, 2000, no public water is distributed along the Highway 99 East Frontage Road At the request of SJCEHD, SECOR completed a 500-foot door-to-door well survey Water supply well location survey ' forms were submitted to four adjacent businesses (El Rancho Motel, Weinerschnitzel, Auto Factory, and Denny Boy Restaurant) and one residential property (8100 N ' Highway 99) One survey form was returned by Weinerschnitzel indicating the presence of a well (well 6/DW-1) supplying the restaurant The well is constructed of 6-inch steel casing, however, the total depth of the well could not be verified (estimated to be ' 170 feet deep by the manager of Weinerschnitzel) In addition to dispersing survey forms, SECOR conducted a physical search of the area During the physical search of the area, a domestic well (well 7 /DW-2) was located on the northern portion of the ' Auto Factory property, and a well (well 8/DW-3) was located in a fenced compound west of the Auto Factory property Conversations with a Denny Boy Restaurant employee revealed that the well on the Auto Factory property (well 7 /DW-2) served both the Auto Factory and the Denny Boy Restaurant No other details about the well were recovered Well 8 /DW-3 is located in an unmarked fenced compound, and no ' details of the well construction are known The well is most likely irrigation well A . summary of the wells located to date is included in Table 6, and well locations are shown on Figure 7 077 43029 330/well insta112 doc
