Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan <br /> THE AUTO FACTORY <br /> 5942 North Highway 99, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION. <br /> At the request of Mr. John Lee, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this <br /> Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan for the property at 5942 North Highway 99, Stockton, <br /> California(the site).The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1.A:plan of the site is illustrated <br /> on Figure 2. <br /> This work plan is prepared as directed by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) by letter dated 10 February 2000 to investigate an <br /> unauthorized release associated with underground storage tanks(USTs).This work plan is prepared <br /> in accordance with PHS-EHD and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the subsurface investigation of UST sites. <br /> The purpose of this site assessment is to evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon impacted soil and/or groundwater at the site. This work plan provides a description of <br /> the scope of work and procedures to be used to advance the soil probe borings, collect and analyze <br /> soil and groundwater samples and properly abandon the soil borings. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at 5942 North Highway 99, approximately 200 feet south of the intersection of <br /> Hammer Lane and North Highway 99 Frontage Road,in an unincorporated portion of Stockton,San <br /> Joaquin County, California (Figure 1). The site is within the northwest quarter of Section 18, <br /> Township 2 North,Range 7 East,Mount Diablo Base and Meridian(Lodi South Quadrangle, 7.5- <br /> Minute USGS Topographic Series, Photorevised 1976). <br /> 2.L SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The property is currently utilized as a used auto sales lot. The site is occupied by a single structure <br /> and associated canopy. The site is bordered on the south by Denny Boy's Restaurant, on the north <br /> by a fast food restaurant,on the west by Highway 99 and on the east by North Highway 99 Frontage <br /> Road. The facility was formerly operated as a Texaco Gasoline Station, with three fuel USTs and <br /> two fuel dispenser islands. <br /> A domestic drinking water well is located near the northeast corner of the property. This well <br /> provides drinking water for both The Auto Factory and the adjacent Denny Boy's Restaurant. The <br /> well is located approximately 50 feet northeast of the former UST cluster.
