Phase II Workplan • •
CLIENT-Stockton,CA
ATC Project No.75.25729.0002
Page 3, May 16,2001
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons-Gasoline(TPH-G;EPA Method 8015);
Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds(SVOCs;EPA Method 8260);and
Pesticides(EPA Method 8080).
A total of ten samples (one per boring) will be analyzed by a laboratory certified by the State of
California Department of Health Services on a 48-hour turn-around basis.
Sample Handling - The sod and/or groundwater samples will be labeled and placed in a cooler for
transportation to a state-certified laboratory for chemical analysis. A chain-of-custody document will be
prepared and accompany the samples to the laboratory.
Decontamination and Site Restoration - Drilling and sampling equipment will be decontaminated between
borings. Drilling equipment will be steam cleaned; sampling equipment will be washed with a solution of
Alconox soap and triple rinsed with the final rinse consisting of de-ionized water. Soil borings will be
grouted with Portland Type II cement grout at the conclusion of sample collection.
Data Management
ATC will perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks on the analytical data. This will
include reviewing the results of QA/QC samples submitted for analyses and QA/QC checks performed by
the analytical laboratory. Data qualifiers will be added to the analytical data where necessary.
The data obtained from the chemical analyses will be evaluated to estimate potential impact of petroleum
hydrocarbons, SVOCs, or pesticides to the shallow soil.
Final Closure Report
ATC will submit, upon completion of the subsurface sampling investigation, a final report, which will discuss
and interpret the field program and laboratory analytical results. ATC will evaluate the presence or absence of
on-site chemical contamination and make recommendations,as appropriate.
PROJECT SCHEDULE
Following approval of the Workplan, ATC anticipates beginning the fieldwork on Monday, May 28, 2001.
The fieldwork is estimated to be completed in one day. A final report will be prepared within two days of
receiving the certified analytical reports.
