two islands, four pumps and four underground storage tanks(USTs): one 6,300-gallon,two
3,987-gallon and one 550-gallon.
• 1973: The station was noted as being closed.
• 29 May 1974: Appraisal records state that Texaco informed the Assessor's Office that the
lease was cancelled and that Texaco no longer owned equipment at the site.
Appraisal records show the station closed and the hoist, air compressor, air and water
•
stations, neon sign, pumps and USTs lined-through and annotated with Texaco and"P.P.",
which the Assessor's office denotes as Personal. Property. The Assessor stated that P.P.
means that the items were removed from Real Estate valuation and placed in Personal
Property valuation. AGE found.no definitive information concerning disposition of the
USTs.
AGE recommends a subsurface investigation of this site in the apparent UST system areas be
conducted.
LSITE ASSESSMENT AND REGULATORY ACTIVITIES
On 21 May 2001,Condor Earth Technologies,Inc.(CETI)issued an Environmental Site Assessment
Report for the site and an additional property adjacently located at 3331 East Clark Road. CETI
concluded, due to past history of the site as a service station and that no records were located
concerning USTs,the USTs must have been abandoned in place.
March 2002, AGE conducted an subsurface investigation by advancing 4 borings. Boring P3
reported hydrocarbon-impacted soil.
On 21 June 2002, San JoaquinCounty Environmental Health Departmen (EHD) filed a UST
Unauthorized Release (Leak)/Contamination Site Report for the site for unknown quantity of
gasoline spillage.EHD placed the site in the Local Oversight Program on 25 June 2002 and required
r a work be submitted to investigate the lateral and vertical extent of contamination at the site.
1 In October 2005,AGE submitted a work plan to EHD to perform site assessment activities including
soil and grab ground water sampling. EHD approved the plan with comments.
In November 2005, AGE performs a limited subsurface investigation by advancing 2 borings to
collect soil and ground water samples. Boring B 1 reported low BTEX compounds from one soil
sample at 60 feet. Ground water samples reported 1,2-DCA at a maximum concentration of 100 pg/l
in the ground water sample collected from B 1.
REFERENCES
California Division of Mines and Geology, 1981.
