GEO-PHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
' Work Plan
Weeks Property
461 Powers
Manteca, CA
May 9,2003
Project No.408.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Property consists of 0.29-acre lot in a mixed-use area of Manteca, CA. It was formerly
' used as an auto repair shop. As part of an environmental assessment, two soil borings are
herein proposed to investigate possible impact from three hydraulic lifts and an oil-water
separator.
' 2.0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATION
To assess sub-surface environmental conditions of a part of the Property, Geo-Phase
' Environmental proposes to install two machine-drilled, Geo-Probe Soil Borings to a depth
sufficient to penetrate the groundwater surface. The total depths of these borings are
anticipated to be about 20 feet. Since the groundwater flow in this part of Manteca generally
' flows to the northwest, any contamination associated with this project is expected to flow in
that direction. Locations of the soil borings will be as follows:
' 1. The first will be outside the northwest corner of the building. This will assess whether
the hydraulic lifts and shop floor drains have impacted the groundwater.
2. Secondly, a soil boring will be installed near the sumps on the north side of the building.
2937 Veneman Avenue, Suite B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
