Additional investigation to identify an
alleged continued source is unwarranted and does not acknowledge prior investigative
results. It is our opinion that residual hydrocarbon concentrations at this site are
associated with the capillary fringe and groundwater regime which were impacted
prior to facility closure and remedial activities.
It is important that this issue be resolved prior to conducting any additional site
characterization. In an effort to move forward with this investigation, I would like to
offer to meet with you to discuss this case and establish a mutually satisfactory strategy
that will satisfy both our concerns. If you feel that that would be beneficial, please
contact me at 510-277-2321. I am very interested in hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Tina Berry
Senior Geologist
Project Manager
